The MV Reef Escape Proves She's Very Much Still in Demand
Captain Cook Cruises has had an exciting start to the year in Fiji. Not only did the MV Reef Escape celebrate its 1000th departure in April, but she was also treated to a soft refurbishment and due to passenger demand for the Northern Fijian Dateline Cruise her departures increased from three in 2005 to four in 2006. The MV Reef Escape, an intimate 120-passenger cruise ship was recently treated to a 'soft' refurbishment. Areas of the ship that were given an upgrade include the swimming pool and pool bar area, the sundeck and surrounding fittings, the Yasawa Saloon Dining, the Purser's Bureau and all staterooms were given a lift with new, soft bedspreads. Guests were not the only ones to value from the refurbishment; the crew's job was also made easier after the bridge was re-equipped with all the latest navigational equipment. The new and improved MV Reef Escape also added another trip to her itinerary for the award winning Northern Fijian Dateline Cruise. Having already had one departure this year, the remaining 2006 departure dates are 6th June, 8th August and 3rd October. This amazing cruise across the international dateline and rich in unique history, art and culture was developed after months of extensive research and looking for secluded and exclusive locations - some never visited by commercial vessels before. The Northern Fiji Dateline Cruise won the Fijian award for 'Best Overnight Cruising' for 2005 aboard MV Reef Escape at the 2005 Annual Tourism Awards for Excellence.
